Why did you want to be a medical coder?

A former colleague suggested I should look into medical coding during the pandemic because I was unable to continue working in person at that time. Prior to my current profession, I worked over 10 years as a health unit secretary for Banner Thunderbird in Glendale, Arizona.

How did you choose the OS2 apprentice program?

I chose OS2 apprentice program because I was looking for more training and experience and heard nothing but positive reviews about the program.

What are you happiest doing when you’re not coding

When I am not coding, I am happiest spending time with my children at the park or family time watching movies

What three words best describe you?

Three words that best describe me are humorous, intentional, and teachable.

Where are you located (City/State)?

I am located in Simpsonville, South Carolina.

Share your hidden talent.

My secret talent is I that I have been a shorthand stenographer (a.k.a. court reporter) since 2012.

What would be your personal motto?

My personal motto is “begin with the end in mind.” I also love “it’s not how you start but how you finish.”
