Why did you want to be a medical coder?

I’ve always loved the medical field, but I never knew what area that I would excel in. I heard about medical coding and researched for some time before deciding to jump into school for it at a local community college. Once I did, I realized that I finally had found my niche and found a group of people who were like-minded. I have also always been fascinated with medical terms and the physiology of the body and diseases. Pair that with working with new programs, computers, and having to hunt for critical information and I have found a career choice that will keep me endlessly intrigued.

How did you choose the OS2 apprentice program?

I heard about the apprentice program through OS2 Healthcare Solutions career page which I was referred to through a coding forum.

What are you happiest doing when you’re not coding

In my free time, I love to go hiking (especially near Mt. Hood) or head to the coast. I also enjoy cooking – anything and everything, even though I am mostly vegetarian. I love being creative with new dishes and recipes.

What three words best describe you?

Organized, inquisitive, and dependable.

Where are you located (City/State)?

Share your hidden talent.

I am an extremely organized person, and I pride myself in being able to organize anything. I have an eye for bringing order and tidiness to things.

What would be your personal motto?

One that I always liked is “Be yourself. Everyone else is already taken.”
