Monica has been coding since 2017, retiring from more than 30 years in education policy.  She is the OS2 Training Manager and a Rick Adjustment Instructor.  She has been coding with OS2 since 2018.  Monica enjoys training and mentoring others.  Monica and her husband live in Texas and have three adult daughters and two randsons.

Course Description

A risk adjustment production practicum, in a simulated coding environment with our coding leadership to prepare novice coders on the day to day tasks associated with MRA peak season. Students are provided with similar tools and resources they should expect in a HCC project, i.e. project guidelines, coding portal and encoder. Our coding leadership monitors and manages production and quality by providing weekly one on one feedback with coders to ensure coders are prepared to transition into any risk adjustment coding environment post the course. HCC Mock Project is a pre-requisite for all risk adjustment coding apprenticeships with OS2 Healthcare Solutions. To be eligible for consideration for an apprentice roles coders must complete 150 charts and have an overall quality score of 90% at the end of the course.

Course Objectives

Perform best practices utilizing workspace organization, resources and production tools, advance analysis of complex chronic condition with various page counts, career development in retrospective risk adjustment coding, navigation practices on various electronic and hand written medical records, navigation practices on industry coding portals, navigation practices on industry standard encoders.

Must have one of the required Certifications: CCS, CCS-P, CPC-A, COC-A, CPC, COC, CIC
