Monica has been coding since 2017, retiring from more than 30 years in education policy.  She is the OS2 Training Manager and a Rick Adjustment Instructor.  She has been coding with OS2 since 2018.  Monica enjoys training and mentoring others.  Monica and her husband live in Texas and have three adult daughters and two randsons.

Course Description

A simulated auditing and clinical documentation improvement environment with our leadership team to prepare novice coders the day to day tasks associated with performing audits and documentation review for physician education roles. Students are provided with similar tools and resources they could expect when starting a role as a Physician Educator, RADV or HCC auditor. Our coding leadership mentors, monitors and manages production and quality by providing weekly one on one feedback with coders to ensure a successful transition into an auditing or CDI role.

  • Navigation practices for utilizing tools/systems
  • Communication strategies for best auditing practices
  • Clinical documentation standards and documentation guidelines
  • Practical experience with auditing charts in a simulated project environment.

Must have one of the required Certifications: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CDIP, CCS-P, CCA, CPC-A, COC-A, CPC, COC, CIC, CRC
