My sister, who is a medical coder, instructor for a coding school and manager of a coding team, first introduced me to medical coding. Her influence along with my fascination with the medical field led me to start my path in medical coding. I love the detail-oriented work, the research and feeling like I’m putting pieces of a puzzle together.
My first introduction to OS2 was through posts I saw on the Jobs for American Medical Coders (JFAMC) job board on Facebook. That led me to start researching what OS2 was about and having an advisory session with Melissa Freeman. I love her vision and what OS2 is all about! The apprentice program is perfect for gaining the valuable experience I need to start my coding career.
I love spending time with my husband and two kids, and reading.

Researching. It’s something most people wouldn’t know about me, but something I seem to have a knack for whether it’s successfully learning how to take care of my little boy when doctors didn’t have answers due to him having a rare medical condition, researching and building a volunteer program from scratch, or simply just researching to find the best product for the money. 🙂
